Qash on her Maxi-Cosi

Getting sleepy

Finally, she's asleep while Toy Story 2 was on TV.

To tell you the truth, she seems to be comfortable sleeping in her car seat rather than on the bed.

First laugh

I was having a fever yesterday.
This morning I decided to lie on the bed longer.
Both my children were already up and I let them play on the bed for a while.
Qash was crying because she felt bored lying on the bed.
So, I picked her up and let her lie on my tummy - on her belly.
She looked at her brother who was playing with his toy car, on my right.
She laughed at her brother.
I don't know what triggered her 'funny' sense.
Haha..
And her brother continued playing with his toy car.

Oh My God.. She got High Fever!

Qash demam pagi nie.. when I heard her cried this morning - I know that there was something wrong.. She cried differently, as if in pain.. Her temperature was 39.0 - ish.. I gave her a quick bath - cold water. She cried, but it's for her own good.. Her Abi brought her to the clinic today - and Alhamdulillah, her temperature dropped to 37.0. Medicine was given at the clinic, and now she's sleeping. I need to breastfeed her every 1/2 hour. 

"Ya Allah, kasihanilah anakku..sihatkanlah badannya..jgnlah kau pjgkan sakitnya..pindahkanlah sakitnya pada diriku..kerana aku tak sanggup melihat dier menahan sakit ini.. Amin."

Sometime around 6.00 pm, her fever became worst. Her temperature spiked up to 9.0-ish again. Abi brought her to the Emergency section @ CH Hospital. She was warded. I packed some of her clothes and mine, and after Isya' we went to the Pedriatic Ward. She was crying when we reached there, and a nurse was trying to calm her down. I cuddled her and breastfed her. SHe stayed calm for a while, and then she started crying. I think she felt restless because of the fever. Maybe her body aches and she had no way of telling me.

She was warded for 3 days. Antibiotic were given to her every 6 hours - 20ml of it through I.V. She was discharge on 1/10/2012.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all hardworking nurses who had patiently attended my baby from 28th Sept - 1st Oct 2012. Thanks very much to Dr Mustaqim too.

Hepatitis B 2nd dose jab

We went to JPN first to get Qash's MYKID. The receipt said we have to collect it on 30/8/2012. But, Ummi insisted on getting it today, so we did, and thank God her MYKID is already here.
Qash got is 2nd dose jab of Hepatitis B today @ Klinik Kesihatan Cameron Highlands.
Abi was the one attending her, while Ummi was busy with Qais.
She peed on Abi after he had placed her on the scale - to weigh her. Pity Abi, everybody laughed at him.
Abi said Qash cried for a while but not too long - which means she's strong.

Weight: 4.5 kg.
Length: 54.5 cm.
Head circumference: 35.6cm

At home, while Aunt Midah was massaging Ummi, 2nd day confinement massage, Qais was curious when he saw Qash's left thigh was plastered with some cotton. He pulled it out, leaving the plaster on and guess what?! Qash cried + shouted quite loud.
I felt sorry for her.

Raya 2012

This is her first Raya with us.

Shopping for Raya 2012 on Raya Eve

Four of us went for Raya shopping at Jusco Station 18, Ipoh.
We bought 3 pairs of baju raya and 1 pair of shoes for Qais and Qash.
Ummi bought 2 hair scarfs.
Abi didn't get anything since he has several pairs of baju melayu.
Abi also bought some toys for Qais - a tent, a set of alphabetical mat, a collection of tiny trucks.
On the way back, we bought Domino's Pizza for breakfasting. Abi ended up breaking his fast in the car.
When we've reached Cameron, Abi quickly went to the shop to see the 'lemang' cooking progress.
Abi ended up cooking the lemang until 7 a.m on 1st Syawal with Uncle Azim, Aunt Lia and several more friends. He went back for a shower and quickly go to Tanah Rata mosque to pay Zakat Fitrah and to perform Eid-Fitr prayer.
At around 9 a.m on 19th August 2012/1st Syawal 1433H, Abi come home from the mosque. Ummi just woke up while Qais and Qash are still fast asleep.
Ummi told Abi to take a quick nap while she give a bath to both Qais and Qash.
When everyone is ready, with our new baju kurung and baju melayu complete with samping, we went to Abah Tok and Mak Tok house for Raya.
Later, they come to our house for Raya - right after they've visited Tok and Tok Wan's grave in Taman Sedia. Ummi, Qais and Qash didn't visit their grave since Abi didn't allow it.
At night, we just stayed at home enjoying some 'kuih raya' that we've taken from Arabella.

At the age of 20 days..she's 4.0 kg.

Today, JM Nurul Huda and SN Che Rozita came for the final visit. They weighted Qashrina, and she's 4.0 kg.

Desa Anthurium, P-03

Qashrina is fast asleep. She's been sleeping a lot during the day and she wakes up at night.

I woke up at around 8 am today because she's already awake – poo time.

I changed her nappies and fed her. She slept for about 2 – 3 hours before she woke up again.

Qais woke up at around 10 am, and I breastfed him. He was still a bit sleepy and he slept right next to me on the black couch.

I was awaken by a loud whistling sound from the kitchen. I was shocked to see steam coming out of under the wet kitchen sink. Then I realized that I had overheated the water tank, forgetting to switch-off the water heater switch. I quickly switched if off and I let the steam escaped for a while before completely shutting – off the pipe.

I gave Qais an early bath, and right after that, to Qashrina.

Qais later went out with Abi at around 2 pm. There's only Qashrina and myself here at home.

Abi is a bit busy today. He need to re-new his MyVi roadtax, empty the car which is filled with Qais's stuff and ours, and later send it for cleaning.

I'm glad he agreed to sell the car to mom. It does lessen our burden.

Qashrina is fast asleep - wearing his brother's sleep suit.

Desa Anthurium, P-03.

Nurse Nurul Huda visited at around 4 pm today. She checked my wound and she said everything was fine. No gapping and not swollen. It's clean. She said maybe Nurse Fazillah didn't notice it because the nurse who sewed my wound uses a different kind of thread; a white one instead of black. This is due to the fact that most mothers complained about some discomfort that they felt at their private area. And maybe because of that they changed it.

She also will consult with SN Salamah about the rashes that I have. She'll pass any medication to me through a visiting nurse tomorrow.

Qashrina's jaundice is fading slowly. That's a great news.

She said Qashrina need to be weight on day 20.

There will be another nurse coming over tomorrow.

3.8 kilos at the age of 10 days.

Qashrina's weight is 3.8 kg. Weighted by visiting nurse, Fazillah.

She supposed to lose 10% of her birth weight, instead..she's gaining 100 grams in 10 days.

Her jaundice is still visible through her skin.. but it's slowly fading.

We were supposed to go out to the Ramadhan Bazaar, but it was raining heavily. Thus, only Abi & Qais went out. We stayed at home.

At 9.00 pm, Abi came home to change his shoes. He said, they were uncomfortable, too tight. I wanted to bring Qashrina to the shop, but the temperature was too low outside, 13 degrees. So, I've decided not to bring her out. I told Abi to bring back Qais at 12.00 am, so I could breastfeed him.

But he's already asleep and at 9.45 p.m, Abi brought him home.

Wound.. gapping?! seriously....??

It has been 9 days after giving birth to Qashrina. At 9.30 am, Fazillah – a home visiting nurse came and checked my wound. She said there's a slight gapping on my wound. I'm shocked and a bit tense because I've never experienced this kind of incident before.

But, when I went to Dewan Bersalin Hospital Cameron Highlands, the nurses said my wound is okay, no gapping, clean and is healing nicely. The stitches were about to come out on its own. Maybe that's what Fazillah meant by 'gapping'. Thanks very much to Nurse Rosimah and Wahidah for rechecking my wound. May Allah Bless You!

A visit to Klinik Kesihatan Cameron Highlands

Klinik Kesihatan Cameron Highlands.

Today Qashrina is 4 days old. We brought her to the clinic for her jaundice check-up since the home visit nurses – Nurse Nurul Syima and Akma Laily said that there's a possibility that our baby is having jaundice. After testing her blood, the result is positive for jaundice but thank God that the reading is low; only 8.8. We were allowed to go home. Alhamdulillah.

27/7/2012
4 pm: Appointment with doc Klinik Kesihatan Cameron Highlands.
4.30 pm: Kes di rujuk ke Hospital Cameron Highlands - baby kurang gerak.
5.40 pm: Dr Rency arahkan ambulans bawa saya ke Hospital Ipoh. Dia takut kes baby besar. Sebenarnya doc tu malas & saje nak mkn gaji buta. Dia bglah alasan yg kt Cameron xde pakar.
6.40 pm: Ambulans dtg amek kt umah. Pg sora

ng diri. Hubby & Qais bertolak lps berbuka.
8.00 pm: Ald reach Dewan Bersalin Hospital Ipoh.
8.30 pm: Nurse check pace jantung baby.
8.45 pm: Soal jawab dgn doc pelatih. She did speculum and checked for opening. Ald 4 cm.
10.30 pm: Masuk Labour room Suite 5.
10.45 pm: Doc pecahkan air ketuban. Rasanya doc pelatih jgk sbb aku tgk i/c dier start 87. Lagi muda dari adik aku yg no.3. Berapa kali dier try pecahkan x boleh. Kali ke-3 baru dpt. Mmg sah2 kurang pengalaman.
12.00 pm: contraction dah bertambah kuat. Aku panggil nurse mintak ubat tahan sakit. Dier kt td dah bg. So xleh bg lagi. Masa tu aku rasa sakit yg teramat2 mcm nak putus nyawa.Rasa nak meneran yg teramat2 pun ada. dua kali terteran dgn sendiri tanpa arahan nurse/doc.
28/7/2012
12.11 am: baby girl lahir dgn selamat. berat 3.7kg. After more than 5 pushes. Alhamdulillah.
1.30 am: Baru dpt keluar dari dewan bersalin and nmpk hubby, Qais, mak, mama, angah & Farkhan tunggu kt luar.
2.00 am: Masuk wad 14.
2.00 am - 7.30 am: xdpt tidur lena sbb baby asyik terjaga. Baby berak sekali.
8.30 am: baby berak lagi.
11.30 am: baby berak n kencing.
12.00 pm: lunch & waktu melawat. Nurse kt boleh discharge.
1.00 pm: Bertolak balik Cameron.
3.45 pm: Smpi rumah & berehat.

LR - Lawatan ke Rumah

Got a call from Mama saying that nurses from Klinik Kesihatan Daerah CH is searching for me. Well, definitely I'm not there! Who wants to hang around at the shop when you've a 2 cm opening and waiting to deliver?
Anyways, they came by to our home and gave a quick check-up on me. All the regular stuff, urine test, blood pressure test, they also checked my tummy to see whether my baby's head is ald engaged in my pelvic bone - and it does. Just as what Dr Noorashikin said yesterday.
The staff nurse, Kak Salamah asked me why I didn't turned up on 16/7/2012. Well, I didn't because Dr Ezy tole me to come and get the pap smear result from Dr Sebastian and that was it! That's why only my husband went to get it..why should I even be there?
Thus, they've arranged for another check-up tomorrow @ 9 am.
Kak Sal asked me if I have any pain. I said just irregular ones in the morning and now no pain at all.
She said if you feel a continuous pain, quickly go to the hospital - that's when the baby is going to come out.
I said okay :)
My hubby said thanks and after all check-ups were done. They went off to another house. I think...

Travelling to Ipoh summary

7.00 am - drove out from Desa Anthurium.
7.14 am - pick up Mama @ Arabella.
8.30 am -  On the way to Ipoh - @ Jalan Simpang Pulai.
9.20 am - Stuck in a light traffic jammed in front of Medan Gopeng.
10.20 am - Ald given urine sample to O&G department at Hospital Besar Ipoh.
11.15 am - Attended by Dr Noorashikin, Room 4 - checked my cervix with speculum
                    & checked for opening, ald 2 cm. Told us that I can deliver normally at
                    Cameron Highlands Hospital. Explained to us that my upper cervix is 
                    irregular. Kind of bumpy and lots of old scaring. Probably caused by 1st
                    vacuum delivery.
11.34 am - Ald driving out from the Hospital
12.08 pm - Having lunch @ Nando's, Jusco Seksyen 18, Ipoh.
1.00 pm - Shopping time - bought story books for Qais, 2 pairs of socks for me, 3 pairs
                  for Qais and 2 pairs for the newborn.
3.42 pm - A quick RnR @ Simpang Pulai Petronas Petrol Kiosk - to perform Zuhr
                  prayer and headed back to Cameron Highlands.
5.48 pm -  Reached Cameron Higlands - sent Mama home.
6.00 pm - Reached Desa Anthurium and resting. Had a quick nap. Awaken by Qais
                   just before Isya'.

Alhamdulillah, I'm just happy and glad that there's nothing wrong with my cervix. No cancerous cells whatsoever. Thank You Allah for all the wonderful experience you've given me!
 

Something's wrong..

Appointment with local staff nurse @ Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Rata
Complained about too much white discharge from vagina.
Checked by local staff nurse, SN Salamah.
She was shocked to see a lot of scarring  & swelling on my vagina.
Took sample for pap smear - resulting bleeding.

12/7/2012 @ 4.30 p.m.
came back to Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Rata - urgent call from nurse.
Doc Ezy gave a letter to refer my case to Dr Raihan @ Hospital Besar Ipoh.
Pap smear result will come out on Monday 16/7/2012.
Get the result on Monday and appointment with Dr Raihan on Tuesday 17/7/2012 @ 9 a.m.
Dr Ezy asked me to ask Dr Raihan wether it is safe for me to deliver my 2nd child here in Cameron Highlands.
My bag, baby bag & Qais bags are packed.
Hopefully, I'm NOT positive for cancer. InsyAllah.
Will see what Dr Raihan's comment on my case.
If it's bad, I need to go and see Dr Marsita Mansor @ Klinik Pakar Wanita Medina Taman Melati, K.L.

Contraction

As the medical dictionary defines:  
Braxton Hicks contractions  light, usually painless, irregular uterine contractions during pregnancy, gradually increasing in intensity and frequency and becoming more rhythmic during the third trimester.

At around 10.00 p.m. today, I think I had my first painful contraction. It felt as if your tummy is tighten in every angle and you really2 need to go to the loo.

At the moment, my baby is actively moving inside my tummy, pushing every angle as if to make space for him/herself. And again I went to the loo. It made me feel better.

Another OffSpring on the way

End of Ramadhan 2011 - realized that my period didn't come as usual. Checked with pregnancy test. Positive for pregnancy.
